Children's therapy title
As a parent/carer it’s so hard to see your child struggle!Â
You feel so disempowered, useless, fretful, frustrated at the support that’s out there and often so so lost. . Firstly, it’s not your fault and secondly, I’m here to support you to navigate the way. Â
Chances are that if you’ve reached this page then it’s not something that they are simply going to grow out of. It’s so hard to decide when the right time is to get clinical intervention (ooo, that sounds awful doesn’t it) but allowing your child the benefit of therapy will ensure that they have the ability to move beyond the adversity that they have experienced. No longer held in the shackles of what has come up for them or being bound by overwhelm, difficulties and anguish. Â
We can discuss the bespoke needs of your client before you make your find decision. I am passionate about you making the right decision for your child.Â

Can Children’s Therapy Help My Child Heal?
short answer is yes!Â
I hear so often that children are sat on waiting lists for 2 + years and this is obviously keeping them stuck.Â
Getting the right therapist who can meet the child where they are (not where we think they should be) allows therapy to work quickly & effectively. Â
My philosophy is that my voice is much less important than the child’s voice. A good therapist allows the voice of the child to be prominent and predominant in the thereputic relationship. Â
Children are often pushed into therapy, they are referred, they are taken to an appointment with a stranger and be expected to engage with that stranger straight away. They need to be met where they are, use their language, use their tone and allow them to be heard. Â
here’s what happens…
99% of the children that I work with only work with me for a maximum of 7 sessions. This isn’t because I take a quick fix approach or that I skim over the surface and set them free – it’s because I work with children to get to the absolute root of what’s happening and allow them to be freed of their struggles. Children DO NOT need to be in therapy for years. If they are in therapy for years then the therapy isn’t working! BOLD statement, I know – it’s not about being a crutch for children it’s about them understanding who they are now, who they can become and helping make that happen. Â

Helen you are the most amazing therapist I know. I’ve learned so much from you and I’m so grateful. The children in my care have benefited so much! Pam, Foster Carer
Our Journey Together
Free Initial Exploration Call
Working with children and young people requires a larger package of support than working with adults alone. So we'll start with a free call to discuss what the immediate concerns are and whether I can help your child or young person. If not I will help direct you to the right resources.
90 Minute Initial Consultation
If we agree to proceed then we'll begin with a comprehensive 90 minute consultation to understand the full history and your current concerns. It will just be us to start with, and the consultation will be structured to provide me with as much information as possible to truly understand the best approach when working individually with children & young people and you!
Family Meeting
After that initial consultation, we get started with a family meeting where your child has the opportunity to meet with me. It's a great chance for them to start getting to know me, explore the space they'll be meeting me in and to ask me anything they want. I'll also explain what we'll be doing together.
Working Together
I'll work individually with your child over 6 sessions to focus on helping them to understand and manage the difficulties they have been experiencing. Alongside these 6 sessions you will have calls with me for advice and support. After every 2 sessions I will meet with you to advise on the ways in which you can respond to your child's needs.
Parent Consultation
On completion we'll have a parent consultation so that I can feed back to you, and I will provide advice and support on how to proceed as a family. However, there may be the need to continue with a small number of sessions and we'll decide on this together.
Together we will create change, and support your child and family to create a positive future.
